In some species of butterflies knowing the exact time of the year when they appear is important, some species are very specific and are linked to a plant life cycle, so there are dates when you see lots of butterfly of the same species, but at other times of the year you see just a few individuals or just nothing.
There are also plants that bloom at a specific date and attract lots of butterflies, so knowing this will help you be more successful taking butterfly photos.

The flower of this vine blooms in October and attracts many different species of butterflies, especially in the Lycaenidae family, I took pictures of 16 species in one day.
This Eunica tatila butterfly was across the road at a length of 3 kilometers (1.86 miles), it was difficult to take photos from other species by their abundance and active flight, 15 days later it was almost impossible to see a specimen.

In a February weekend this Emesis cypria was very abundant, when in other dates they are not as common.

Also there is a relationship between the presence of butterflies and rainy or dry seasons of the year, knowing the abundance of species is achieved by going to the same place many times over time or by asking locals.
When I know that this cycle exist (butterfly or plant) and I want to take more photos of a specific butterfly, I'll look at my pictures and the date it was taken to prepare to go to the same place on that date again.
Conocer la fecha correcta en el año para encontrar una mariposa
En algunas especies de mariposas saber la fecha exacta del año en que aparecen es importante, muchas son muy específicas y están ligadas al ciclo de vida de las plantas, por lo que hay fechas en las que ver gran cantidad de mariposas de la misma especie es muy fácil, pero en otra época del año sólo ves unos cuantos individuos o simplemente ninguno.
También hay plantas que florecen en una fecha específica y que atraen gran cantidad de mariposas, por lo que conocer esto le ayudará a tener más éxito tomando fotos.
La flor de esta enredadera florece en octubre y atrae muchas especies diferentes de mariposas de la familia Lycaenidae, allí tome fotos de 16 especies en un solo día.

Esta mariposa Eunica tatila estaba en toda la carretera en una longitud de 3 kilómetros, era difícil tomar fotos de otras especies por su abundancia y su activo vuelo, 15 días más tarde era casi imposible ver un espécimen.
En un fin de semana de febrero eran muy abundantes las Emesis cypria, cuando en otras épocas aunque presentes no son tan abundantes.
También hay relación entre presencia de mariposas y las épocas lluviosas o secas del año, conocer la abundancia de especies se logra yendo muchas veces al mismo sitio a través del el tiempo o preguntando a las personas locales.
Cuando sé que este ciclo existe (de la mariposa o de la planta) y quiero tomar más fotos de una mariposa específica, voy a mis fotos y miro la fecha en que se tomó con el fin de prepararme para ir al mismo lugar en esa fecha otra vez.
